Privacy Policy
Unofficial HC911 · Hamilton County TN
Updated November 4, 2026
This policy covers the Unofficial HC911 app for iPhone and Mac and this website. The app is made by Adam Chiaravalle.
The incident list
Your device fetches the list of active calls directly from Hamilton County's public feed (hc911server.com), the same feed the county's own website uses. That request goes from your device to the county, not through us, so the county's servers see it the way they'd see any visit to their website. We don't receive a copy of what you look at.
Your location
If you allow it, the app uses your location on your device only, to show distances and your position on the map. It never sends your location to us. The one exception is a place you choose to save for alerts (see below).
If you turn on alerts
To send you notifications, our server stores:
- A random ID the app creates for your device, plus a scrambled copy of a secret key the app keeps, so only your device can change its settings.
- Apple's push token for your device, which lets us send it notifications.
- Your alert settings: which kinds of calls, which cities, how many alerts per hour, and any places you save. Saved places are rounded to 3 decimal places (about 100 meters) before we store them.
- Whether your device is an iPhone or a Mac, and the app version.
- A list of the alerts we sent you, kept for 30 days so the app can show them and so you don't get the same alert twice.
If you never turn on alerts, the app doesn't send us any of this.
What we don't do
There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We don't collect your name, email, contacts, or advertising identifier. We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Who handles it
- Cloudflare hosts our server and database. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the network connection, which includes your IP address, and may keep short-lived technical logs for security and reliability. We don't use them to identify you.
- Apple delivers the notifications.
- Hamilton County's feed provides the incident data. Nothing about you is sent to it by us.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my data. That removes everything our server stores for your device, right away. If a device stops using the app, we delete its data automatically after 12 months. You can also email adam@amplifi.studio and we'll delete it.
Children
Unofficial HC911 isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them.
