Unofficial HC911 · Hamilton County TN
Questions, bugs, or ideas: adam@amplifi.studio. I usually answer within a day or two.
Unofficial. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District or Hamilton County Government. Data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.
- Why did an alert come late?
- A call only reaches the county's public feed after it's entered, and our server checks the feed once a minute. The county's feed also goes down at times, sometimes for several minutes. After that, Apple delivers the notification, which can take longer when your device is in Low Power Mode or a Focus mode. If the feed is down for a while, we skip calls that are more than an hour old rather than send a burst of old alerts.
- Why don't I see every call?
- The app shows what the county publishes, and the county doesn't publish every type of call. Calls also drop off the list once the county closes them. The app hides permitted burns, as the county's own map does.
- Why didn't I get an alert for a call I can see?
- Check your alert settings: the kind of call, the cities or saved places, and the alerts-per-hour limit. Calls that were already on the list when you turned alerts on won't trigger one.
- How do I turn alerts off?
- In the app, open Settings and switch alerts off. You can also turn off notifications for Unofficial HC911 in your device's Settings, under Notifications. To remove everything our server stores, use Delete my data in the app's Settings.
- Is this the county's app?
- No. It's an independent app that reads the county's public feed. For the official map, visit hamiltontn911.gov.
